Day 1
DEPART USA.
Board your overnight flight to Rio de
Janeiro.
Day 2
ARRIVE RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL.
A morning arrival in one of the world’s
most exciting cities. You are met and
privately transferred to your hotel.
Afternoon sightseeing of the "Cidade
Maravilhosa" – Marvelous City – takes
you past Copacabana and Ipanema, two of
the most famous beaches in the world and
inspiration for countless composers.
Then take a cable car ride
to the summit of Sugar Loaf Mountain
with its spectacular 360° view of the
city. Return to your hotel later this
afternoon.
Day 3 RIO
DE JANEIRO.
After breakfast, start your second day
of sightseeing in this beautiful city.
Drive by the fashionable residences of
the Barra district. Then, proceed to the
top of Corcovado
Mountain to admire the
122-ft high, 1,400-ton granite statue of
Christ the Redeemer with his arms
outstretched. From here, enjoy a
panoramic view of the beaches, bay,
buildings and bridges below. Pass
Maracana Stadium, the world’s largest
with a capacity of 200,000 spectators,
and continue through downtown with a
stop at the New Cathedral, an
astonishing building in modern
architecture with a capacity of 25,000.
This evening, enjoy a "churrascaria"
dinner (barbeque) for which Rio is
famous. (B,D)
Day 4 RIO
DE JANEIRO.
Your local host will have suggestions on
things to see and do. Optional
excursions include an all-day schooner
cruise to an offshore island as well as
an evening Samba extravaganza. (B)
Day 5 RIO
DE JANEIRO / IGUASSU FALLS.
Fly to
Iguassu Falls; on arrival you are met
and privately transferred to your hotel.
Your afternoon is dedicated to exploring
this magnificent panorama of waterfalls
from the Brazilian side. The spectacle
of this two-mile-wide torrential
downpour with some cataracts as high as
250 feet, is nothing short of
unbelievable. The numerous rainbows,
clouds of spray and surrounding tropical
growth makes this place one of nature’s
wonders. (B)
Day 6
IGUASSU FALLS / BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA.
Enjoy a free morning before a guided
tour of the Argentine side of the Falls.
Afterward fly to Buenos Aires, the
"Paris of South America." The balance of
the day is at leisure in this city of
broad boulevards, sidewalk cafés,
mansions and monuments. Spend some time
on Calle Florida, an expansive
pedestrian mall where some of the finest
shops are located, or relax over a cool
drink in a café. (B)
Day 7
BUENOS AIRES.
Sightseeing takes you to the Plaza de
Mayo. See Casa Rosada, the official
residence of the Argentine president;
visit the Metropolitan
Cathedral; view San
Telmo, the Teatro Colon, Avenida 9 de
Julio, one of the widest boulevards in
the world, famous Recoleta Cemetery and
Palermo Park. This evening, enjoy
Argentina’s famous beef and its
delicious wines, watch a spectacular
presentation of the popular and sensuous
Tango and listen to
unforgettable Pampas and Andean music. (B,D)
Day 8
BUENOS AIRES.
There are many things to do including
optional sightseeing to the Pampas to
experience gaucho life or a half-day
trip to Colonia de Sacramento in
Uruguay. Your local host will have
suggestions. (B)
Day 9
BUENOS AIRES / SANTIAGO, CHILE.
Transfer to the airport for your flight
across the Andes to Chile. Land in
Santiago, the capital of a country with
2,650 miles of Pacific coastline. Your
hotel is located in Providencia,
Santiago’s showcase of fine shops and
world-class restaurants. (B)
Day 10
SANTIAGO.
Santiago, Chile’s capital, is a modern
city with a rich history. Founded in
1541, the city was soon destroyed by
native tribes. It was rebuilt, and today
is one of the largest cities in South
America. Step back in time as your local
guide retraces Santiago’s heritage and
history. Begin at the city’s civic
center and the neoclassical La Moneda
Palace, home to many presidents. You’ll
also visit Plaza de Armas, a picturesque
square surrounded by the 18th century
Cathedral Metropolitana and the central
post office. Nearby is the Central
Market, a colorful conglomeration of
seafood, fruits, vegetables and flowers.
The rest of the afternoon and evening is
at leisure. (B)
Day 11
VALPARAISO & VIÑA DEL MAR EXCURSION.
Begin the day with a drive to the
beautiful coastal region west of
Santiago. Drive through Chile’s wine
country to the historic port of Valparaiso and continue along
the coast to Viña
del Mar.
This chic seaside resort with its palm
tree-lined avenues and lovely villas
truly deserves the name "Pearl of the
Pacific." Return to Santiago later this
afternoon where the balance of the day
is free. (B)
Day 12
SANTIAGO / HOMEBOUND FLIGHT.
A free day before you are transferred to
the airport for your overnight flight
home. (B)

ARRIVE USA.
You arrive home today.

Day 12 SANTIAGO / LIMA, PERU.
Transfer to the airport for your
flight to Lima. You will be met
and transferred to your hotel.
This afternoon, visit Plaza
Mayor, the historical center of
Lima with its Colonial treasures
– the Presidential Palace, City
Hall, and Archbishop’s Palace.
Then visit the Cathedral which
houses treasures and the remains
of Pizarro. Proceed to the 16th
century San Francisco Monastery,
whose cloisters are adorned with
tiles from Seville. Next, drive
through the residential
districts of San Isidro and
Miraflores for a view of the
Pacific Ocean. (B)
Day 13 LIMA / CUZCO.
Early morning flight to Cuzco.
Take time to relax in your room
in order to acclimate to the
altitude of 11,444 feet. This
afternoon’s tour includes Plaza
del Regocijo, Plaza de Armas,
the Cathedral,
and Santo Domingo Monastery.
Visit legendary Koricancha and Old Town
with its cobblestone streets.
Also, tour several Inca ruins
including the fortresses of
Sacsayhuaman
and Tambomachay.

Day 14 CUZCO / MACHU PICCHU.
Today’s unforgettable journey
begins with a scenic rail trip
through the Sacred Valley of the
Incas to Aguas Calientes. Upon
arrival, ascend by coach to
Machu Picchu, the ruins of
the "Lost City of the Incas."
There are temples, houses,
terraces for growing crops, and
a sacrificial altar. Your guided
tour of this citadel is an
awe-inspiring experience. (B,L,D)
Day 15 MACHU PICCHU / CUZCO.
A free morning to explore at
your leisure and pace. Rise
early to witness an amazing
sunrise over the ruins. This
afternoon, return to Cuzco by
rail. (B)
Day 16 CUZCO / LIMA.
Transfer to the airport for your
flight to Lima. This afternoon,
join a tour to the famed Larco Herrera and the
Archaeological Museums
and marvel at its priceless
collection of pre-Columbian
