Day 1
DEPART USA.
Board your overnight flight to Santiago.
Day 2
ARRIVE SANTIAGO, CHILE.
Upon arrival you are met and privately
transferred to your hotel. The rest of
the day is free to relax and acquaint
yourself with one of South America’s
most progressive cities.
Day 3
SANTIAGO.
Step back in time as your local guide
retraces Santiago’s heritage and
history. Begin at the city’s civic
center and the neoclassical La Moneda
Palace, home to many presidents. You
will also visit Plaza de Armas, a
picturesque square surrounded by the
18th century Cathedral Metropolitana and
the central post office. Nearby, housed
in an exquisite 19th century wrought
iron building, is the Central Market, a
colorful conglomeration of seafood,
fruits, vegetables and flowers. The
balance of the day is free. (B)
Day 4 WINE
COUNTRY OR VALPARAISO & VIÑA DEL MAR
EXCURSION.
Chile is world renowned for its wine,
and a trip to the heart of its wine
country is a must. Visit Concha Y Toro
Vineyard, situated in a spectacular
setting in the foothills near the coast.
The vineyard has won numerous awards
worldwide (On dates when the Concha Y
Toro Vineyard cannot be confirmed, visit
the Cousino Macul Vineyard, founded in
the 1500’s and renown for its Merlot and
Chardonnay). Alternatively, you may
choose an excursion to the bustling port
city of Valparaiso with its 40 hills,
and the chic resort of Viña del Mar.
This resort boasts lovely villas and
palm tree-lined streets, and is referred
to as the "Pearl of the Pacific." (B)
Day 5
SANTIAGO / CHILOE ISLAND.
Transfer to the airport for the flight
to Puerto Montt. Enjoy a city tour of
this little port town with its typical
square. You will also visit Angelmó, the
traditional seafood market in town. Then
board a ferry for the short journey to
Chiloe Island, a World Heritage Site.
Watch for friendly dolphins along the
way. Arrive in Chacao, with its simple
wooden church and unique architecture.
Then visit a local farm where you will
find unusual farm animals being raised,
including little reindeer unique to
Chile and snails. Overnight in the
quaint village of Ancud. (B,L)
Day 6
CHILOE ISLAND / PUERTO VARAS.
Tour the fishing village of Ancud, where
generations of fisherman still sail in
the small colorful boats that they have
for hundreds of years. Then learn more
of the local traditions at a unique
handicraft market. Lunch is a special
treat of local foods cooked in the
ground with hot stones. On your way to
Puerto Varas, stop to see Humboldt and
Magellan penguins. Overnight in Puerto
Varas, a pretty lakeside town known for
its handicrafts. (B,L)
Day 7
VICENTE PÉREZ ROSALES NATIONAL PARK
EXCURSION.
Enjoy a full-day excursion to Vicente
Pérez Rosales National Park, including a
soft hike to Petrohue Falls. Stroll
through an ancient coigue forest to the
Green Lagoon. A walk around the base of
Osorno Volcano offers wonderful views of
the Petrohue Valley, the Andes and
Calbuco, a nearby volcano. Head back to
Puerto Varas later in the day. (B,L)
Day 8
PUERTO VARAS / PUERTO NATALES.
Fly to Punta Arenas, a picturesque town
overlooking the Strait of Magellan.
Transfer to Puerto Natales, the gateway
to Patagonia and situated against a
backdrop of imposing mountains. (B)
Day 9
TORRES NATIONAL PARK EXCURSION.
This 450,000 acre National Park has been
declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
Spend the day exploring the forest and
enjoying views of the majestic glaciated
peaks that surround the Park. (B)
Day 10
PUERTO NATALES / SERRANO GLACIER / PUNTA
ARENAS.
Enjoy a boat cruise through Last Hope
and Esperanza Sounds to Serrano and
Balmadeda Glaciers. At Serrano Glacier
you will walk through native forests to
the base of the massive ice walls. Then,
stop to visit a sea lion colony on the
return. Later this afternoon transfer
back to Punta Arenas where your evening
is free. (B,L)

spend one night in Puerto Natales and
one night at the Hosteria Lago Grey (F)
in Torres del Paine National Park.
Day 11
PUNTA ARENAS / DEPART SANTIAGO.
Fly back to Santiago to connect with
your overnight flight home. Extra nights
are available if you wish to extend your

ARRIVE USA.
You arrive home today.

Day 11 PUNTA ARENAS /
SANTIAGO / SAN PEDRO DE
ATACAMA. Fly to Santiago to
connect with your flight
to Calama and the short
transfer to San Pedro de
Atacama, gateway to the
desert. This magical and
silent desert is the
driest region on earth;
in some parts of the
desert it has not rained
in over 450 years. The
region offers
archaeological treasures
almost 3,000 years old
and a geological
landscape unlike
anything found in the
world. (B,D)
Days 12 SAN PEDRO DE
ATACAMA. Start the day with a
visit to the huge
Atacama Salt Lake, an
inland sea dating back
millions of years. Then
follow the isolated and
scenic road toward
Argentina, where you
will visit the Lagunas
Miscanti and Meniques,
set at the base of two
towering volcanoes. The
alpine lagoons are
fringed with salt
deposits and surrounded
by brillantly colored
clumps of “paja brava,”
creating an incredible
visual experience. Your
final visit today is
Moon Valley, a
fascinating lunar-like
landscape dominated by
the snow-capped
volcanoes of the Andes
on the horizon. Tonight,
spend time strolling
along the main street of
San Pedro with its
unique arts and crafts
shops and excellent
restaurants. (B,L)
Days 13 SAN PEDRO DE
ATACAMA. Early this morning, head
northeast through
mountains and desert to
see the impressive Tatio
geysers at an altitude
of over 13,000 feet. The
geysers are at their
best in the morning
hours. On the return,
stop at the local
village of Machuca,
where you can meet the
locals in their adobe
homes and visit the
quaint church. Your
afternoon is free. Be
sure to visit the Father
le Paige Museum where
over 4,000 skulls,
mummies and sandstone
pottery are on display.

Day 14 SAN PEDRO DE
ATACAMA / SANTIAGO. A free morning for last
minute sightseeing. Then
transfer to Calama to
connect with your flight
home via Santiago. (B)
Day 15 ARRIVE USA. Arrive home today. Extra nights are
available in San Pedro
de Atacama for those
wishing to explore the
desert in greater depth.
