OVERNIGHT TRANSPACIFIC FLIGHT.
Day 2
ARRIVE BANGKOK, THAILAND.
Arrive late this evening in Bangkok.
Transfer on your own to your hotel at
the airport.
Day 3
BANGKOK / YANGON, MYANMAR.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport
to continue your journey. Arrive in
Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. Upon
arrival, you will be met and transferred
to your hotel. Later enjoy a late
afternoon orientation tour followed by
an excursion to the remarkable Shwedagon
Pagoda

Day 4 YANGON
/ PYAY / CRUISING.
Coach to Pyay and board your ship. After
lunch, visit the archaeological site of
Thiri-ya-kittiya, with
its outstanding museum
of Buddhist artifacts. Cast off today at

Day 5
THAYETMYO.
This colonial town guarded the border
between Royal Burma and British Burma.
Visit the covered market, see the
colonial homes and visit the war
cemetery where Turkish
prisoners of war were laid to rest, then
travel by horse cart to see the
country’s oldest golf
course. (B,L,D)
Day 6
MINHLA & GWECHAUNG.
Explore two Italian forts, originally
constructed to keep the British from
invading from Royal Burma. Climb
Gwechaung Hill for a panoramic view
before returning to the ship. (B,L,D)
Day 7
MAGWE.
A short walk will bring you to the
magnificent Myat-thalon Pagoda.
This pagoda was constructed entirely of
solid gold bricks. Later continue
cruising on the Irrawaddy River, taking
in the remote rural life in a land that
seems forgotten by time.(B,L,D)
Day 8
SALE.
Your port of call today includes views
of the teak monasteries of Sale,
including Yout-saun-kyaung
with its unforgettable woodcarvings.
Later, moor at Tan-chi-taung
Mountain and ascend by foot or
WWII jeep to witness the spectacular
sunset over Bagan. (B,L,D)
Day 9
BAGAN.
Stretching across a vast plain, the
ruins of World Heritage listed Bagan are a splendid sight.
There are few trees to obstruct the
view, and one can gaze over forty square
miles of countryside and see literally
thousands of abandoned Buddhist
monuments and temples. You will explore
a selection of the most significant of
these. During your stay in Bagan there
will also be an opportunity to visit a
lacquer factory. (B,L,D)
Day 10
BAGAN / THEINGONE.
This morning, continue your exploration
of Bagan before casting off. Relax on
the top deck as you cruise past the
scenic countryside. Later, visit the
village of Theingone,
with its new school and monastery. (B,L,D)
Day 11
YANDABO.
Your stop today is in the tiny rural
village of Yandabo. The
town is renowned in Burma/Myanmar for
its terra cotta pottery making.
Afterward, visit the Pandaw
School and the
dispensary, both constructed and opened
with donations from past passengers of
Pandaw cruises. (B,L,D)
Day 12 AVA
/ AMARAPURA.
Take a coach or sampan and visit the
ancient capitals of Ava and Amarapura.
There is time to explore the ruins,
including Bagaya
Kyaung, a 200 year-old
Royal Monastery made of teak with
elaborate woodcarvings. Then cross the
famous teak U Bein Bridge
to see the paintings in the Kyauktawgyi Pagoda. (B,L,D)
Day 13
SAGAING HILLS / MANDALAY.
Travel by small boat, then take a
leisurely walk to the Sagaing
Hills. There are over
1,000 monasteries and temples here. Then
on to Mandalay. Your tour includes
Mahamuni Pagoda
and the teak-carved monastery Shwe-im-bean. Next, visit a
tapestry making workshop. End the day at
sunset atop Mandalay Hill. (B,L,D)
Day 14
MANDALAY / YANGON.
Disembark after breakfast and transfer
to the airport for the flight to Yangon.
After checking into your hotel, head
over to the bustling Scots
Market for your last
look at day-to-day life in Myanmar. (B,L,D)

DEPART YANGON.
After a visit to the war cemetery at
Htaukchan, you are transferred to the
