Day 1,
Wed. ARRIVE PANAMA CITY, PANAMA / GAMBOA.
On arrival you are met and transferred
to the Gamboa Rainforest Lodge, located
on the Chagres River in Soberania
National Park.
Days 2 &
3, Thu & Fri. GAMBOA.
Enjoy two exciting days to explore the
fascinating jungles, lakes, rivers and
rainforests of Panama. (B daily)
You have a
wide selection of optional activities to
choose from including:
- Pipeline Road Bird Watching
Excursion: A morning hike through
Soberania National Park
- Gatun Lake Wildlife Observation:
Cruise Gatun Lake in search of
wildlife
- Nocturnal Wildlife cruise:
Cruise during the evening along the
Chagres River and Gatun Lake seeking
wildlife
- Aerial Tram and exhibits:
Explore the rainforest with a
bird’s-eye view as you ride along
the rainforest canopy
- La Laguna Trail: Walk through
the rainforest to learn of the flora
in the region
- Las Cruses Trail: Head to the
historic town of Las Cruces, then
walk along the Casaya River and a
forest ridge to the Las Cruces
Trail, used to cross the Isthmus
since the 16th century.
Day 4,
Sat. GAMBOA / PANAMA CANAL / PLAYA
BLANCA OR PLAYA BONITA.
Enjoy a full day partial transit* of the
mighty and historic Panama Canal. Learn
its history and cruise through the
locks. This is a once-in-a-lifetime
experience. Afterward, a private
transfer takes you from the Panama Canal
to your choice of beach resorts. (B,D)
Decameron Beach Resort and
Casino (F), Playa Blanca. This
all-inclusive resort is set along a
golden sand beach. All rooms feature
air-conditioning, large balconies, and
cable TV. There are two pools, and
activities including watersports such as
kayaking and windsurfing.
InterContinental Playa Bonita
Resort and Spa (DLX), Playa
Bonita. A brand new oceanfront resort
(opened in 2005). All rooms feature an
ocean view and balcony. There are three
restaurants, two pools, and a 10,000 sq
ft. holistic spa. Breakfast, lunch, and
dinner are included during your stay.
The hotel features 24-hour room service.
Days 5 &
6, Sun. & Mon. BEACH RESORT STAY.
Two full days to enjoy the amenities of
your beach resort. There are plenty of
optional activities (own expense) to
choose from, including sport fishing,
boat trips to the Pearl Islands, a visit
to a cultural village, and much more. (B,L,D
daily)
Day 7,
Tue. BEACH RESORT / PANAMA CITY.
This morning head back to Panama City
and enjoy a private tour of the historic
colonial city. The balance of the day is
free. (B)
Day 8,
Wed. DEPART PANAMA CITY.
Transfer to the airport for your onward
flight. Extra nights are available in
Panama City if you wish to extend your
stay. (B)
